CALABARZON Regional Government Center now ready for occupancy

  

CALAMBA CITY, LAGUNA. The country’s first-ever one-stop-shop Regional Government Center located in Brgy. Mapagong, Calamba City, Laguna is now ready for occupancy!   Calamba City Engineer Erwin Pacada announced that Phase 1 of the project i.e. Building 1 and the Podium, has been completed!

 

The Calabarzon Regional Government Center (CRGC) – ‘where Public Service is in One Place’ - is a P2.5 Billion Joint Venture project being undertaken by Calamba City and MTD Philippines, Inc.  through a Public Private Partnership.   The CRGC shall service the entire Region IV-A or Calabarzon Area covering Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.

In a simple handover ceremonies held today at the CRGC in Calamba City, Laguna, Calamba City Mayor Timmy Chipeco and MTD President, Engr. Isaac S. David jointly accepted the ceremonial key presented by MTD Construction Corp. and RC Ramos Construction.  Also present during the handover ceremonies was Cong. Joaquin Chipeco of the 2nd District of Laguna ,who initiated the said project while he was the incumbent Mayor of Calamba, and Philjaya President, Engr. Nicholas David, who will be handling the operation and management of the CRGC.

 

Mayor Chipeco said that “Region IV-A Government Agencies can now relocate to the Calabarzon Regional Government Center in Calamba City which has been designated as the regional center of Region IV-A by virtue of Executive Order No. 246.” 

 

The said E.O. instructed the Regional Development Council of Region IV-A to “undertake necessary steps for the site development of the CALABARZON regional center in Calamba City” and that it also directed all national line agencies to “locate their regional offices in Calamba City as soon as possible and provide the necessary budgetary and other requirements for this purpose.”

Mayor Chipeco also announced that he has invited President Noynoy Aquino to be the Guest of Honor during the formal inauguration of the CRGC,  unveiling of the Calabarzon marker, and ground breaking of Phase 2 of the project which is scheduled on September 29, 2014.   MTD President, Engr. Isaac S. David said that the entire Board of Directors of Mtd Group of Malaysia, headed by its CEO, Dato Dr. Azmil Khalid who is also the head of the Malaysia-Philippines Business Council, will be coming to the Philippines to attend this event.

Engr. David added that AlloyMtd Group is ready and willing to finance and develop other regional centers as well as redevelopment of existing provincial or city government centers all over the Philippines through joint ventures with local governments.
